All new users to the Galleries please note:

• These galleries are for the images of MKAS members (only).
• The imaging section head (imageman@midkentastro.org.uk) has overall control
• No images over 500KB please (unless there is a very good reason for it) - gallery is limited to 2MB upload size.
• All record shots and incidental photos to be sized to 800X600 (250KB) or less
• Copyright for all images is assigned to MKAS for the purposes of display (don't upload anything with copyright on it - that you can't assign to us)
• NO INDECENT OR SMUTTY IMAGES OF ANY KIND are to be uploaded (or you will get us shut down - for good!)
• The Galleries are for The Mid-Kent Astronomical Society, images should all relate to astronomy or the activities of the Society
• Don't be tempted to put anything 'funny' up here, as not everyone shares the same sense of humour (and the webmaster has NO sense of humour)
• Any images put up here can be viewed by the general public (and they should be suitable for that purpose)
• Any members of the society have access to both upload, edit and delete any images in this gallery
  • Dont put anything up here you don't want to loose
  • Keep your own backups of stuff here (in case it gets lost)
  • Don't add categories willy nilly - try to use one that's already here ( imageman@midkentastro.org.uk if in doubt)
  • Don't delete other people's stuff

To upload stuff:

1. Go into a gallery (your in one now)
2. Select the little blue arrow on the right hand bottom of the window you'r in.
   1. If you can't see the tools (top right hand of the window - small red cross, white square and red diagonal cross) - you need your priviliges updating.  Contact the webmaster@midkentastro.org.uk requesting author priviliges. The general public don't have these priviliges (they can view only).
3. An upload window should open, allowing you to:
   1. Give it a title (Give it a one or two word title, followed by a dash and your name, e.g. M42 - Agatha Crunchbucket)  
      The title appears below the thumbnail in the gallery, if it's too large, it pushes the next photo onto another line.
   2. Select a category (DO THIS FIRST or your picture will get lost)
   3. Input a description (keep it brief)
   4. Locate the file on your PC that you want to upload - this is below the description window; if you don't select a file here nothing will happen when you click the upload icon
4. Click the little upload icon (Globe with a blue arrow pointing into it)

You can upload into any gallery from any other one (you don't need to go into the target gallery to upload to it).
Once you have uploaded your image, it should appear straight away in the gallery.  To send someone a link to a picture, you need to use the url from the address bar.
