Are you interested in Astronomy or other aspects of observing the universe?  Have you bought a telescope and are wondering what else you can see?  Did you ever wonder what we as a species have learned about the stars and what that tells us about our own planet?  This society is for people who are interested in furthering their own knowledge on these subjects.

If you are a novice thinking about buying a telescope, we have a word of advice for you - DONT.  Until you have a clear idea of what it is you want to see, you are likely to waste your money.  Come along to the society's talks and observing evenings (we usually have at least one a month) and find out what there is to be seen, and what they look like through someone else's telescope first.  The society also owns telescopes for use by members in observing, so think about coming here before clicking over to e-bay and making that bid!    If you want to learn more now, take a look at our Introduction to Astronomy articles in the About Us section.
