MENU
WELCOME TO THE MID-KENT ASTRONOMICAL SOCIETY
Our meetings are held at Bredhurst Village Hall. We look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible.
See EVENTS page for details of our events.

MKAS App
The MKAS App is now available for members and visitors to install on your phones and tablets and use on your computers.

The app is free for all, and is the quickest way to access information on MKAS events and get to recent Alerts as well as find out your membership details, or how to join for non-members.

The app is not available on the App Stores; to install, follow these simple instructions to install it on your device.

We hope you find it as useful as we do, and we will add more functionality over time.
MKAS NEEDS YOUR HELP!
We are looking for a permanent site to house our historic GP20 Telescope, and make use of it.
If you know anybody with some land, or an outbuilding, or perhaps a clubhouse, where we could move the telescope to, and set it up for use, we are keen to speak to you.

The Mid-Kent Astronomical Society (MKAS)
As Kent's premier Astronomy society, MKAS provides for amateurs and enthusiasts to follow and share in all things Astronomical. A very friendly and helpful group, supporting its members and visitors with stimulating and interesting talks, events, and giving free advice on how to do Astronomy and use equipment.

MKAS has over 100 members of all levels of expertise, and runs an Observatory housing a 14 inch telescope, which one day will be upgraded to a 20 inch research grade telescope that is currently being prepared.

So, if you don't know how to set up your Telescope, come along and be shown at the Telescope Workshops. If you are just starting in Astronomy, come along to a meeting and get free advice on what you need and how you can progress in astronomy. Also, check out The Guide on this website: a resource designed for beginners.

And for the more advanced, why not join in on one of the projects?
